I am often asked how I make my videos. I want to give some answers here. But this does not replace the personal contact. Each of questions are welcome to contact me.
Equipment
For the recording of the individual images I use digital SLR (DSLR). Currently I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, a Canon EOS 650D and a Canon EOS 550Da. In addition, lenses with
different focal lengths. These are Walimex 3.5 / 8mm, Walimex 2.8 / 14mm and Canon EF 24-105 L IS USM. The DSLR I equip with a timer remote release, which you can use to set
the corresponding trigger intervals.
For the solar and planetary images I use a Schmidt-Cassegrain C11 and a 254 / 1250mm Newtonian telescope. As a camera DMK 21AU618.AS or ASI120MM is used.
Camera movements
I put the camera movements always very discreet. Too rapid movements draw quickly on the actual celestial motions. Two possibilities are available to move the camera.
Firstly, the movement of a slide through the countryside, on the other hand, the rotation of the camera. For this I use a self builded rail system and an astronomical mount.
From Single Images to Video
Much software exists on the market to cut videos. I use the program "MAGIX Video deluxe" in which I assign to 24 frames per second. 24 shots exposed to 30 seconds resulting
in an approximately 12 second video real-time minutes. The individual scenes can then be cut together very nicely.
Locations
Even before you can plan its many places online services today. Places, separated from all light are best. In addition, it is always nice to plan and the moon and its light.
